Abstract: The knowledge of liver blood vessels anatomy is essential for hepatic transplants and hepatobiliary and pancreatic procedures. In addition, it is crucial to be aware of the liver anatomy due to its importance in the operations of the hepatic neoplasms. Studies have shown that hepatic perfusion presents a number of variants, which have an important role in liver physiology as well as in the treatment of hepatoblastic neoplasms. The purpose of the present work is the presentation and analysis of anatomic variations and anomalies of the hepatic artery, and the importance and application of this knowledge in clinical practice of liver diseases. In particular, the significance of this insight into hepatoblastic neoplasms is presented.
